Welcome to the IEM Katowice 2016 team preview series! Here, we will be taking a closer look at each of the teams that are attending and participating in IEM Katowice 2016. This time, we are checking out the sole Bulgarian team, E-Frag.net, who qualified via the first of the two European Qualifiers for this tournament.

E-Frag.net Roster:

Bulgaria Emiliyan "spyleadeR" Dimitrov
Bulgaria Simeon "dream3r" Ganev
Bulgaria Nikolay "nkl" Krustev
Bulgaria Viktor "v1c7oR" Dyankov
Bulgaria Kamen "bubble" Kostadinov

Recent Achievements:

2nd - European Minor Championship 2016
1st - E-Frag Rising Stars Balkan
2nd - ESEA Season 20: Premier

Brief Overview:

Our friendly neighbourhood Bulgarians have place 1st-3rd in 13 notable competitions since being signed onto their current organization, and are looking better every time they play. They have won E-Frag Rising Stars Balkan, placed second one of the most prestigious CS:GO leagues in the world, and one of their players has even spawned a meme.

Nothing much is expected out of this team, considering they would have to go through most of the toughest teams in the world right now, but surprises are happening everywhere nowadays, and it wouldn't be so far-fetched to expect one here. Only to get out of the group stage, they would have to beat teams such as Team EnVyUs, Astralis, Virtus.Pro, and FaZe Clan. Every single one of those teams has gone to the semi-finals of a Valve-endorsed Major, while two of those teams have gone on to win one, if not multiple, of said tournaments.

Fun Facts:

  • Over 50% of E-Frag.net's games in 2016 were on de_Cache or de_Cobblestone in 2016.
  • E-Frag.net has only ever played de_Train once in an official match ever since joining the organization.
  • Simeon "dream3r" Ganev is currently banned from participating in all Valve-endorsed events.
  • E-Frag.net wins 80% of 5v4s on de_Dust2.
  • On the other hand, they only win 25% of 4v5s on de_Overpass.
  • E-Frag.net is currently the #1 Bulgarian team, the #4 Eastern European team, and one of the top 20 teams in the world on the GosuGamers CS:GO World Rankings.
