IGE purchases Allakhazam.com!

[s]wow[/s]

The biggest gold selling site has gotten stronger with what is being heavily reported as a secret deal that went on late last year between IGE and Allakhazam.com.

As most World of WarCraft players know, there are two main sites to visit to check for drop rates of items, loot tables of bosses, and other really important information that otherwise would be difficult to find. Known definetly a while ago, is that IGE bought out Thottbot and has heavy advertising on the site, and personally I think the quality of the site has severly decreased because of the transaction.

But you may ask, how is the information obtained? There are plugins that you can install to your WoW program that track what mobs you kill, what loot you obtain, and the exact location of various herbs/mines/etc. What do you get for giving them this information? Your very own profile to display on the website to show/link to your friends and guildmates with all your great loot. Once it was exposed that Thottbot has in fact sold out to IGE many players moved away from it and started using Allakhazam.

Which takes us to today, where we stand looking at another website supporting goldselling. What this brings us to though is possibly of the biggest merger of these sites. Before you read the press release you should know that Zam.com is owned by IGE, so make your own conclusions here:

Allakhazam is pleased to announce that we have added several new sites to our network and have joined them together to form the Zam.com Network which is now instantly the leading content destination for all MMO gamers.

The new Zam.com Network will consist of newly expanded and improved versions of Allakhazam.com and Thottbot.com. In addition, the assets and content of OGaming.com (and the interface sites) and L2Orphus.com will be integrated into the existing Allakhazam network. This will add multiple new games to our site, more than double our personnel and give us the flexibility to add more features, better service and expanded coverage.

Velied by the illusion that Allakhazam actually bought the sites when what is being reported is the complete opposite. We'll keep a close eye on what happens with these sites in the future. My reccomendation, don't visit these sites if you do not want to support gold farming. Also, spread the news and DIGG the news over at news blogging site DIGG.com.
