IEM Sao Paulo will have a PvP grand final after the last foreigner in the tournament TLO lost to defending champion herO[join]. Whoever wins will be the first two-times IEM champion.
IEM Brazil is one match away from completion and history is about to be written: in the second PvP final in IEM's history, MC and herO[join] will fight to determine the first ever two-times champion of the circuit.
This isn't the only noteworthy story that IEM Sao Paulo offered, however, and the event that led to the grand final saw not one or two upsets. Day two marked the complete foreign triumph in Group D after Major and Abomb reigned over Bbyong and Trot, as well as the elimination of two-times WCS champion Polt at the hands of Jjakji after a crushing 3-0.
The surprises continued today as well as Liquid`s Zerg TLO managed to defeat WCS Season 2 champion Bomber after a clutch 3-2 to become to only foreigner in the round of four. Although TLO's streak was eventually ended by herO[join], he's guaranteed to bank $2,000 as well as 375 WCS points.
MC and herO[join] enter the grand final with great records behind their backs. The former face of SK Gaming is 7-1 in the tournament and is within reach of his first gold medal since IEM World Championship 2012. herO, on the other hand, is 6-0 in the playoffs and has the opportunity to become not only the first two-times IEM champion but the first back-to-back winner as well. The final is scheduled for 19:00 CET and the bets are now open.
