The first day of WCS America is finished, each player faced off in a best of five series that determined who would advance on to the Premier League. Day one showed some excellent players such as Scarlett, Huk, Apocalypse, and Violet which paved the way for some exciting matches as well as a few upsets.
The first series of the day was between Huk and Bails, with Bails taking game one it was not the greatest start for Huk. However Huk staged quite a comeback and won 3 games in a row to take the series 3-1. The next series was between Apocalypse and Desrow, Apocalypse has not had much luck at recent tournaments and was hoping to turn it around taking game one. However similar to the previous series Desrow proceeded to win three games in a row to take the series 3-1. The third series managed to show why Scarlett is one of the best foreigners in a rather decisive series Scarlett swept Cowman 3-0.
The fourth set of games was a hard fought series between Violet and Top, with Top taking the first match then Violet proceeded to take the next two games, but Top refused to quit and took the next two matches to secure the series 3-2. The fifth series of the night was between Alive and Koma with Alive completely sweeping Koma taking the series 3-0. The final match of the night between Major and Kane ran longer then expected and is set to finish tomorrow along with the start of day two. After all the matches the winners of day one include Huk, Desrow, Scarlett, Top, and Alive these players will advance on to the premier league. WCS America will resume tomorrow at 3:00pm PST with day two of the Challenger League.
