All sixteen players for the MLG GameOn Invitationals have been announced. The Americas-only tournament featuring names like HuK, Scarlett and iNcontroL is starting January 19th.
Americas' finest are lined up. HuK, Catz, Suppy, Vibe, qxc, Scarlett, Major, Illusion and more are ready for the $5,000 MLG GameOn invitational starting tomorrow.
The tournament was announced on January 8th when MLG EVP Adam Apicella confirmed that the company will be reopen its doors to Blizzard's RTS. MLG dropped StarCraft 2 from its program before MLG Columbus 2013 and only now the brand is ready to feature the game again, putting together the aforementioned GameOn invitational (a 16-man all-Americas tournament) as well as bringing StarCraft 2 to MLG Anaheim later this year (June 20-22).
The GameOn invitational - to be cast by Catz and Destiny - will put the players through two double elimination group stages and one single elimination bracket before crowing the winner. The latter will get $3,000 richer, leaving $1,000 to the runner-up.
