With all the camera time the top progamers get, it's easy to forget the up-and-coming B-Team players. Luckily, KeSPA has created the Pro League Minor League to pit these lesser known players against each other.
This is a fantastic event for avid pro Starcraft followers to see some new faces before they breakout onto the big scene. It's also very encouraging for people who dream of someday being a progamer (ex. SAGETOSS x.x) to see progamers who make the same mistakes that many non pro players make, inadvertently making the pro scene seem more human, rather than the elusive players like Jaedong who remind the casual community, on a constant basis, that they will never be good enough. QQ.
Like last year, only 10 teams will be participating in the league, with Air Force Ace and STX Soul not partaking in the matches. As a result, the teams who will be playing are as follows:
Hite Sparkyz
Samsung KHAN
MBC
CJ Entus
KTF MagicNs
SKT1
Hwaseung Oz
We Made Fox
eSTRO
Woongjin STARS
Follow the links for each team for a full roster of the players participating.
Players are eligible to participate only if they've had less than 6 pro league matches. This is a very exciting opportunity to watch players who may have never seen the light of day. Some players are recognizable due to their recent success in the GOM Classic games, such as: Midas, Index, or by.Rage. However, most of the players are in mint condition, ready to have their shiny finish smudged by camera time. Even the sole white progamer on a Korean team, Idra, will be participating.
Games will be played on the same map pool as the actual PL. Those maps are, if you don't know, Destination, Neo Medusa, Heartbreak Ridge, Outsider, God's Garden, and Battle Royal. For an in depth look at the map pool, you can follow this link.
The first week of games has already kicked off with an exciting start. To see how your favorite B team player did in the opening week, you can go to the ICCup forums to take a look.Good luck to all the players in the Minor League!
