Ukraine's qualifiers took place the same weekend as Poland's, but didn't seem to garner as much attention, even though big names like
White-Ra,
Strelok and many other great players. But one name shone brighter than them all this time:
Dimaga.
With so many great players in the tournament, competition couldn't have been much fiercer. Would White-Ra win yet again, as he had the two last times? Would Strelok go all the way this time? As it turns out, Dimaga was in the mood for some victory. He started off by kicking Strelok into the loser's bracket in the first game, then proceeding to pummel
Strelok may have been down, but he certainly was not out. Clawing his way through the loser's bracket, he defeated his MYM teammate, White-Ra, who had been knocked into the loser's bracket by
Dimaga wasn't finished with Strelok however, finishing the deal by defeating him 3-2 and earning his trip to Cologne. Much like Draco and Mondragon had in their respective tournaments, Dimaga went through this WCG qualifier almost undefeated, a very impressive feat, especially considering the competition. Strelok ended up defeating HanniGan in the consolidation finals, placing second overall and HanniGan coming in at third place.
