The Team Liquid Star League is drawing to a close and all the players are rushing to get into the top 48.
There has never been a tournament like this one, any person who plays StarCraft has a chance to win. The prize pool is enormous, a wopping 10,000 dollars spread out over the top players. The league is in its final days before the playoffs, and right now the German Zerg Mondragon holds a commanding 1,000 point lead over his closest competitors.
Coming Out of Hiding
The prize pool has drawn quite a few notable players back into the limelight from their retirement. Australian old school Legionnaire is back playing his heart out to hit the top 48, right now he is floating in the mid 50s. Smuft, Liquid.Nazgul, Testie and Sen have all reappeared for their chance at the five grand that the winner will take home. This tournament is clearly revitalizing the Brood War community.

American player and brother to Tasteless Day[9] is holding a replay contest at TeamLiquid and the winner of this week will recieve 100$ (USD). Anyone can enter a replay and have the chance for the cash prize. So far there have been replays from alot of the top players out there, and even an amazing game between IefNaij and Boxer.
As the ladder draws to close on Monday at 18:00 CET, TeamLiquid has asked that players stop their games so that it will be easier for them to calculate. Remember the league is not over yet and in the next two days anything can happen. The top 48 advance to duke it out until there is a winner going home with a fat check in his pocket.
