The first round of the Averatec Intel Classic was played last night in Korea, all the games were very well played
GOMTV has been the only company to cater to English speaking fans of the Korean Brood War scene. Last night they put on their next tournament for the masses, the Averatec Intel Classic, the only one of its kind. It was a huge success as usual, with some of the best Korean players taking part in the first round and Nick "Tasteless" Plott shoutcasting to 180 countries.

Yellow Still Has Some Fight
Yellow has been playing Brood War for a very long time, in fact the rivalry between him and Boxer was one of the first big ones. There have been rumors that he is too old to even win a game now, too slow and too unmotivated. Well last night he proved those rumors wrong by winning his match in a stunning 2-1 victory over Asam.
Tossgirl won her first pro match ever last night as well, making her the only female to ever do so. Both of these players are old school and are trying to prove that they can still play with the young guns. It is going to be hard though since their are 148 players, among them the top 32 of KeSPA. Those 32 are seeded as it is into the final 64 so the rest will have to work very hard to get there.
Next Week
The matches for the next week have not been released yet, it seems GOM is having some kind of trouble with their news section right now. They should be up fairly soon though since the matches are scheduled to be played every Sunday until this August when the finals will take place. Make sure to tune in and show your support for Tasteless, and the Korean Brood War community.
