GameStar.de presents the GSL!

Outside of Korea it is rare to find a league willing to show support for the amount of time necessary. The good people of GamerStar.de have brought you the premier star league for foreigners.

This league is not new to the scene, having been known as one of the premier groups out there. They have hosted both Warcraft 3 and Counter Strike 1.6 in the past but slightly shifted gears this year. They broadcast these games live from their very own studio in Germany into televisions and computers all across the globe.

StarCraft is not the only game featured but it is most definitely one of the best. The GSL also hosts some other games including Unreal Tournament 3 (1on1) as well as Guild Wars (8on8) but we know what you really want to hear about so lets get down to it. The players for StarCraft have already been chosen for this season by invite only.

The 16 players accepted into the tournament will be competing for a total of almost €9000 in cash and equipment! The games will begin on March the 24th and go until late November 2008 when the finals will take place. There is a base payout to each player no matter what of €25 so everyone comes out with a little something here.

The Players

A lot of the invited players are from the clans Germany ToT and Denmark MYM. A good portion of their top players are participating and it looks to be a interesting league. Other teams include Russia 3D and Germany faculty, here is a complete list of the competitors.
