Artosis gives us a hint on a promising new league.
Beginning this weekend, and every weekend for two months, MediaESports will be running a brand new league they have named "Ascension", which is according to Dan "Artosis" Stemkoski "A competition unlike any other". What seperates this league from the others is the fact that it will be broadcasted by the company from start until finish on Media's very own ME TV.
Twenty four of the best foreign players
MediaESports will be inviting a total of twenty four people to play in the league. "All very well known names from the scene" says Artosis. "It's top guys. So you could guess who I will be inviting." They have decided to construct matches weekly to avoid no-shows, something that has plagued other leagues in the past. Another interesting note is that only three maps will be played for the competition: Zodiac, Python and Blue Storm.
Three rounds, starting with robin
The completion is split up into three rounds, with round one seeing the players split up into groups. In these groups they will play continuously for two hours, with the winner being whoever can claim the most victories in the time allotted. This will continue, with the second round seeing the best of each group facing each other. The final round will consist of just a few players, all vying for a chance to be Ascension's first champion.
More details are expected to be released this week.
