The first round of GGNT has been completed today.. with some good, exciting matches having been played, and some more great matchups next week... the action is just getting started!
The top 16 nations in the database have been reduced to 8 today, with almost all matches running smoothly and getting played in due time. One problem occurred with Canada vs Russia, after much deliberation Russia was awarded the win.
Thus far in the first round there were not too many upsets. One of the main matches, USA versus Germany ended up in a victory for the Germans. On the other hand, the only B team to grab a victory was Germany B, who defeated Latvia. Both USA A and B, and Canada A and B were eliminated. Poland A and Ukraine A still remain in the hunt, followed by Greece, Russia, Sweden, Chile, and Germany B.
