IEST with over 100,000 Euro prize money

China continues to be the new Mecca of international Real-Time Strategy tournaments. The International Electronic Sports Tournament kicks off in Beijing, China the 13th of October, with a hefty prize sum and an interesting pool of players!

Sad because the World Cyber Games are over? Fear not, International Electronic Sports Tournament (IEST) is only four days away - starting with the Chinese preliminary to determine which three players should accompany the invited nine international players.

International Electronic Sports Tournament will be held in Beijing, China, and is without a doubt one of the biggest Chinese Esports tournaments in terms of prize money to start off with. Counting the Chinese preliminary and the Grand Final (not counting amateur tournament) it sums up to over €100,000. The winners walks away with €15,000, a prize sum equivalent to the one in World Cyber Games.

The tournament has three game principle: StarCraft, WarCraft 3 and Pro Evolution Soccer 6. Each tournament will have three Chinese players (qualified through the Chinese preliminary) and nine invited players from around the world. Six international players are already known - three more for each game are to be announced. Most likely three Korean players since the known players are from Europe and America.

The Grand Final kicks off on 18th of October, while the Chinese preliminary starts 13th of October. Below are the invited players and the map pools for each game principle.

Aside the professional tournament, so called "Masters" tournament, there is an amateur tournament as well called "Star" tournament. With a smaller prize money pool and is open for everyone to take part in, except for the ones playing in the professional tournament.
