No WCG ticket but cash prize for WCG Croatia

As the game of Brood War ages the amount of countries able to send StarCraft gamers to participate in the World Cyber Games dwindles every year. With the groups for the event recently announced one country not on the ballot was Croatia. The winner of the qualification tournament is to get a large cash sum instead.

Confusion occurred in Croatia regarding whether or not they would send a StarCraft participant to Seattle to compete in the World Cyber Games. It appears that people were under the impression that WCG Croatia would send a participant to the Grand Finals. This however proved to be false for Brood War and several other games. The error has been explained as "communication failure" by the organisers.

The first prize for the StarCraft tournament will be a cash sum of 1000 euros instead. It might not hold as much prestige as a ticket to Seattle, but I think the winner will still enjoy the prize nonetheless. The tournament will be held this weekend.
