Nine down, seven to go in the StarLeague

[s]event_406[/s]

We now have half the last rounds matches played, and we are starting to see who will, might or may not move on to the playoffs in GosuGamers StarLeague's second season.

As two players were removed from the league in both Group A and D we already there have four players ready; Mireille, SarenS, Oldy and IdrA. IdrA and Oldy played for first and second place and IdrA walked out as the winner with a two versus one score.

Players done for the playoffs

France SarenSGroup A
Taiwan SenGroup B
Poland GosiaGroup B
Canada XiaoZiGroup D

Germany MondragonGroup H
Another of the qualified players are Squall from Group G, winning all matches in his group. For the rest of the Group G players, it is all about the last match. With Omni versus Ptak left, that result ending up in favor of Omni will create a tie between them both and Crow who is number two in the group right now. On the other hand if Ptak win he will move on as the second placed player in the group.

The last one already qualified is not very surprisingly Mondragon from group H, also him taking down all his opponents. For the rest of the group, Artosis forfeited in his match versus NonY because of his loss to Mondragon, and therefore the losing of the chance of advance. NonY and datoby both have three points, which makes the final game with them the one deciding who will move on. No date is set yet, but hopefully we will have a bet up for you soon!

Another interesting group is what we like to call the "tie group", group F. There we have the German Bouncer who forfeited all games this far and that way created a tie with all the other players in the group, as Strelok tonight defeated Skew and they together with Bruce all have points. More information about this is to be found in the earlier news post.

Both Sen and Gosia has already got two wins and that leaves GohaN and surprisingly White-Ra with no chance of advancing from the group stage.

- Group B settled

Many called Group B the toughest one in this stage of the tournament, with four top players from the European scene. Also in this group there is only one game left, but in this case the results we have already is enough to show us who will continue their struggle to win GGSL. Both Sen and Gosia have already got two wins, which gives them six points each, and that leaves GohaN and surprisingly White-Ra with no chance of leaving the group stage.

As Legend forfeited the league already during the first week of the group stage, Group C was left with only three players. To make sure the right players move on, all the three matches have to be played and we are still waiting on Dreiven versus Jersey and CrayOn versus Dreiven to be played. Not much to say about the group as two out of three games still has to be played. GosuGamers will keep you posted, though, with bets, results and replays!

Another one has also qualified already - in Group D. LoWeLy played well in both first rounds and that gave him the lead with six points. With all other games played except one, where both players only have three points, that gives him one of the two spots for group D in the playoffs. The other one to advance will be either XiaOzI or Fabian, the one who wins the last match of the group. HayprO, the last Swedish hope is unfortunately out and the Swedes out there have to look to Mireille from Group A for hope.
