Taiwan and Australia in World Cup controversy

[s]event_441[/s]

Only a day after the first round of the WGTour World Cup Season 2 finished, controversy had arisen in the match between Taiwan and Australia. The score was reported as 3 - 1 for Australia, but the score is claimed to be 3 - 2 Taiwan, claims Seal.4Leaf

The final score was a shattering 3 - 1 win for Australia over Taiwan when the results, along with the other results of round 1, were released yesterday. These results did not remain uncontested for long. Taiwan Yu "4Leaf" Chang wrote on the GosuGamers.net forums his side of the story, which gives Taiwan a 3 - 2 win over Australia.

So why was the score different? Several games that were played were reversed because the Taiwanese players were not registered as National Team members. After the games were played, Australia was given those games and thus the matches were reversed to give a 3 - 1 win for Australia.

The administrator in charge of the final decision was United States Scott "Dknight" Walfield who wrote, "As other admins here have said, since players were used not on the WGT team, their matches were reversed. Thats simple procedure and we follow that in every NW as well as CL. This seems to be a big deal only when a certain team feels the consequences of it." He also took the blame off of Australia Bman saying that Bman was not allowed to handle any case related to the Australian national team.
4.0 Playing a Nation War
4.1. All players must be added to the team before the nation war. Make sure to play the player listed in the draw.

Under the Nation War Rules, Article 4.1 states simply to "Make sure to play the player listed in the draw." As interpreted by Norway Petra "Ilvy", "Well both teams are responsible to check, if their opponent is legal or not." This puts the responsibility more on Australia for making sure that they played the right team and right players.

Seal.4Leaf complains that "WGTour 's Taiwan team Leader already quit BW for many years , we don't have his pass..." This meant that Taiwan could not add the players they wanted to the official list on WGTour for their nation war. They also complained that the Australian team leader had not contacted any Taiwanese member before hand to discuss this issue.

So if the responsibility was in the hands of Team Australia to report the players before the match, shouldn't Taiwan still get the win? Or was it Taiwan's responsibility to complain about their inactive national team leader and get a change? Either way the admin's word is, and always has been, final.
