The MBC Survivor Tournament is over and today we saw the GomTV MBC StarLeague Season 2 Group Selection. A massive 32 man tournament that promises many excellent games already in the first rounds.
There were three ways a player could be qualified for this tournament. First there are the four seeds from last seasons MSL. Meaning the top four finishers in that tournament. They got an autobirth into this one. Then there was the 12 players who qualified through last seasons Survivor League. More recently the Survivor Tournament was held where the last 16 players secured their spot in this seasons MSL. The MSL group selection ceremony is a bit complex. The 16 players who are from last season (Survivor League and seeds) are placed in eight groups. Then the last 16 (from Survivor Tournament) get to pick their opponents. Then the already placed played are allowed a chance to switch one of the players who chose their group out with a player from another group.

There were quite a few funny and interesting occurances during the ceremony. Savior almost tripped on his way in. Oov originally selected Nada, and asked Nada to swap him back in once he was swapped out of Nada's group. And for once Midas did not pick Savior, finally he has learned. He originally picked JJu, but was passed around like a hot potato, until he ended in Group F against Light. There are clearly many strong groups, but NaDa, July, Chalrenge and Oov in group G stand out a bit. Boxer was attending via phone, and I know we are all looking forward to him vs Nal_rA.
The first round will be played in dual tournament style. That means that the inital games (as listed above) are played. Then there's a winners game where the winner goes through. Then there is a loser's game where the loser is eliminated and the winner goes to the final game to meet the loser of the winners game. The winner here grabs the last spot in the final round. All these games are best of one.
