GGSL: Round two almost over

[s]event_406[/s]

The GosuGamers StarLeague round two is almost finished, and this is how the groups look at the moment. GosuGamers also managed to catch two of the participants for a few questions.

In Group A we find Bouncer and IdrA at the top, both with 1-1 stats. However, if Testie takes down MysticJoey he will take the lead in the group being 2-0. A lot can happen still.

The new ToT member iNfeRnaL and the Ukrainian Protoss monster White-Ra are both up 1-0, while TT1 and PredY naturally are down 0-1. Their round two matches can change the standings a bit, so we will have to wait and see what happens when the new reuslts get in. GosuGamers asked PredY a little bit about his participation.
4a4cbd7cdc003f2578f2396eadd31037bed51f3ce5ba1b3ec5e16cdd7eYour first match was against iNfeRnaL, how were the games?
Well, a few weeks ago I beat him so i felt kinda confident. In first game I tried to play agressive, however he was always able to defend it and then he just out-macroed me. Anyway, I felt fine about the game. In second game he just rushed me...

That makes you 0-1 in the group, and you still have to play against TT1 and White-Ra. What do you think about your chances?
I guess I will lose 1-2 to White-Ra as always, so my only chance is to beat TT1. Although, he's a really great player, I have to admit. I'm pretty inactive as of late but I'll do my best.

What are the maps you will play on? are they Terran friendly, or will it be like starting with a disadvantage?
Well I think I can make some damage on these maps in the TvZ matchup. I've already played them in Czech pro-league and won on them, however this is higher level of competition. I like Longinus and Tau cross.

Looking at the different groups, which one do you find the toughest? Are you happy with the group you are in, or would any other one have been more suiting for you?
Groups E, F, G, H are really nice-looking. H is really strong, I wish I would be there, but i like my group, it's OK, I don't really mind, I must be able to beat all players to win anyway.

Four very good players in a group where everyone can beat each other. ParanOid and his fellow Pole bH are 1-1, while Oldy has got the group in his grip being 2-0. Ex in troubles with 0-2.

The two Protosses ArcneoN who just joined aAa and MicrogamerZ Polish member GohaN have both started out alright, winning their first round matches. In round two they played eachother, with GohaN coming out on top. Skew has left the league, so there are only three players left in the group.

Germany's super star Zerg player Mondragon was sceptical about his chances at first but after beating Bruce and Artosis he is in the lead of teh group, and has teh Chinese pro gamer PJ left to play. The two of them recently fought a hard battle in BW4Ever, in which the Zerg could eventually win.

Two Asian powerhouses in SEn and Lx. The two Swedes have had a hard time against them, losing two matches. In the very first round jinro was able to take one map from SEn. We asked him a few questions.
77a0d92d13afd143e7001ce313221e6438d16924c48b04a4e0c193856dThe group you are in is a very hard one with both SEn and Lx for example. What were your thoughts about it when you found out what players you would have to go up against?
I didnt find out Lx would be in my group until like, the last minute, but I was happy I'd get to play SEn again, cause he's very manner and a great player.
Playing Lx was nice since there's no pressure in playing a player of his level, and we'd played once before in a chinese team league, so playing him again was fun.

What can you tell us about the matches? you managed to steal a game from SEn.
Yeah, I could have won the first game versus SEn but I wasn't sure if he'd pooled first or not so I hesitated too long.

In the 3rd game I didn't know the map very well at all so I tried to do the center-gate thing and ended up going to another main instead of the center.. Sen graciously granted me a rematch (2 in fact). Very manner and sportsmanlike. I'm happy I could take a game from him.

My timing was just not nearly as good.
- jinro[S2]
In the PvP mirror against Lx, did you feel you had any chance to compete with him, or has his pro gaming adventure given him too much skill, simply?
Hm, I'm just not as good as him PvP, we used very similiar gameplans but my timing was just not nearly as good.
In the first game I think I could have done a bit better perhaps, and in the second I felt I would have had some real chances if I'd gotten a forge sooner and mirrored his build.

I recently got a 20" monitor and this was the first time I played BW on it, ddin't realize it would be so huge. Helped my micro but took a little while getting used to. All in all, I think the better player won for sure, and even when I'm in perfect condition I wouldn't expect to beat Lx PvP.

Your next opponent is Mireille, what do you think about your chances in that match?
No idea, last time we played I lost 3-4, after he made a come back from 3-1, so depending on what shape he's in it could be very close or.. not so close. I'm not in the best shape but maybe I can pull off some good games.
