Team NaW- tells GosuGamers they have signed with QPAD, which not only gives them gaming gear, but also financial support to reach their future goals. And what might be most interesting of all - a new clan league will be formed with €1,000 in the prize pool.
More clan leagues to the people! This time it is the cooperation between the Swedish team Nerds at Work (NaW) and the mousepad company QPAD which puts together a league - the QPAD League. The league will be played as a one on one tournament where each participating team (32) has one spot. The players ending Top 4 each week will be rewarded with points which go back to their respective teams. At the end of the tournament series, the three teams which collected the largest amount of points will be invited to the playoffs to battle for €1,000.
- This way, we hope all the teams to use their best players for this league so we will certainly be seeing some very high standard BO3-matches in every week's semifinals and finals, says Emerald to GosuGamers.
The teams will be handpicked by Team NaW- and will include the top teams but also a couple of wildcards.- We made a survey among the division 1 and division 2 teams of WGTCL, asking them if they would be interested to take part of this event. Everybody except one team informed us that they were interested, Emerald further explains.
The league kicks off as soon as the league's website launches, which shouldn't take too long according to Emerald.
And what of Team NaW's contract with QPAD?
- I can't specify any numbers about how much we get in financial support from QPAD, but I can tell you that I personally believe we have managed to get one of the most attractive sponsor deals a StarCraft team can get nowadays, at least as far as I know, says Emerald.
When more information about the league comes in, we will let you know.
