The FIFA World Cup saw France and Italy facing off in the Grand Final, but in WGTour's edition the Italians were defeated early on in the bracket tree by the Ukrainians. Without Andriy Shevchenko, Ukraine proved in the WGTour that they still knew how to strike. With their Excello superstars White-Ra and Strelok (both nominated in the Gosu Gamer of the Year) they took two important wins for their team in the Grand Final against France.
