Canadians shine in Lucky7 show match

The two WGtour administrators Bman and Strat0 got the idea of selecting seven players each and putting them into teams. The teams would battle it out in a King of the Hill style show match. The team with the last man standing would win it all.

Players carefully selected by WGTour administrators Strat0 and Bman were put into two teams. There was one player for each of the 14 highest ranked nations in the WGTour Nation War ranking (that includes B teams as well). The teams played a show match against each other using the format known from King of the Hill as well as various Korean leagues. The first player plays until he loses a game, then he gets replaced by player number two etc. When a team runs out of players they lose.

The two teams consisted of powerful players such as Paran0id, Satanik, Testie and others. The full teams were as follows.

The match started out with the Greek player Satanik taking down Spanish Executor, giving the first win to Team Bman. After that, the first Canadian was up to play. TT1 started out by taking down Satanik, and after that he played Polish ParanOid out of the match. TT1 was not finished there, as he also beat Fenix before he finally lost to AsS.

Artosis entered the field for team Strat0, and beat AsS before he lost to StYm. Time for the second Canadian of the day to start. Well known Testie gave no chance to neither StYm, Kashu or DarkOOa. Testie going 3-0 also meant the match ended in favor of team Strat0.

The two Canadian players showed to be the ones making a difference in this match. Strat0 can thank them for six out of seven wins. When asked about his opponents, GosuGamers Database number one ranked Canadian, Testie says his opponents were alright. One who surprised him a bit was DarkOOa, who had a very strong early game build but lost in the late game.

When first seeing the two teams he didn't get very frightened, but felt that both teams had a shot at the win. However, he kind of expected his side to win, Testie tells GosuGamers.

As mentioned, Testie and TT1 were the ones taking home the match for their team and when asked if this showed that Canada really is one of the best Starcraft nations he says it would take more than a bunch of 1on1's for Canada to show what they can do, but also congratulates TT1 to a good performance.
