F2F : Kashu vs Raven - Results and Interview

Hungary WCG winner Kashu, meeting the recently decided WCG Poland player Raven. This Face 2 Face event will take place tomorrow at 19:00 cet.

As the WCG eleminaries are still going on in most countries, some of them have already decided which players will go to Monza. This year

Kashu will be representing Hungary in WCG. Poland has also chosen which players to be sent, though

Raven fought for it not only by playing but also by querying all over the net and talking to the WCG commite.

We thought a F2F event would be nice among the WCG winners. It will take place on 16.09.2006 at 19:00 cet. Kashu is actually a race picker which is

The battles will take place on the maps which are chosen after a long debate. Since F2F is a best of 5 event and each map is played only once, it is an important choice for the players. Azalea was choosen by Kashu in the first place before raven's WCG decided. Then we thought about changing the map, and had some difficult time for choosing an other. The maps mentioned were Xeno Sky, Arcadia and probably the most played map on the world, Lost Temple.

Interview with Raven

You have won 5-0 againnst kashu, how do you feel ?

Well its always nice feeling to win a showmatch. Especially when I play against very mannered guy who enjoy the competition as I do. I think it was a lot of fun

Yes both of you are mannered for real and thanks for that, so was kashu going p in the last game was a surprise for you ?

Well yes but I felt comfortable with this change anyway. In fact Nostalgia was my map choice and it is one of my favourite maps ever!

It is quite an old map, and do you think playing on azalea which is a wcg map will cause trouble for you in wcg ?

Some people say it is not really good map for Terran but I prepared for all maps well enough to say I can play with same performance in all of them. Actually I never liked Estrella from previous year map pool - those land maps who left fit to my gameplay.

And since we are talking about wcg can you tell us a bit more about your wcg "adventure" ? We all know you fought for it real hard. Is it really that much important for you ?

It is indeed. As I said in TL.net forums it is was always my personal dream to represent Poland in WCG Grand Finals. I trained hard for 3 months long now playing Hamachi games only (to prepare for LAN finals even better) and only WCG maps. I'm proud and happy I can do this year finally - after 6 years of attempts and I will do my best and train even harder now to get good results in Monza!

Thanks for all suport polish and international community gave me about my WCG participation! It helped me a lot to believe I can join finals this year!
