The 1,250 dollar event finished its quarter finals early this morning. If you don't want to be spoiled, then stop reading now.

The highlight of the round, Mondragon against White-Ra, was the only series that lead to three games. On Colloseum, Mondragon pushed a defensive White-Ra with zerglings in the start to later dominate the airfield with mutalisks backed up by scourges. Being under attack, White-Ra tried to buy time with a dark templar drop but was fended off by the German before doing any extensive damage.

The second game saw Mondragon go with lurkers while White-Ra had the same strategy. After a failed all-in attack to White-Ra's natural expansion which had the back-up of dark templar, Mondragon saw no chance of turning the tide around and admitted defeat.

Playing on the new WCG map Outsider, Mondragon took a defensive stance in the start of the game. White-Ra did the same, and it turned into a real macro-based game. The viewers had to wait until the 20 minute mark to see Mondragon advance out with a mix of ultralisks and hydralisks.

The Ukrainian had not been sitting rolling his thumbs, as he had a bulky army on his own which could hold of Mondragon's attempt to finish it off. Ultimately White-Ra finished the game with his gateway mix roaming the grounds of Outsider.

BRAT_OK defeated iNkA two to one after a long game on Colloseum and a short one on Heartbreak Ridge. First game was a straight up mech versus gateway units, while the second was a marine-tank push that overwhelmed the American Protoss player.

Evil Geniuses veteran Louder fell against his fellow Protoss MaNa after two quick games on Colloseum. The first game saw a proxygate by MaNa, the second game a dragoon push.

Team mates HayprO and XiaOzI bumped heads in the last match of the series. HayprO goliathed his way to victory in the first game against XiaOzI's hydra-mutalisk combo with the help of a throng of siege tanks.

Moving from Colloseum to Heartbreak Ridge, HayprO decided for the the more mobile infantry army while the Canadian Zerg evolved to a crackling-lurker combination supported by defilers. After pushing back and forth on the map, HayprO eventually moved in for the final blow, thus advancing to the next round.

The semi finals are dated to October 29.
