The top-ranked foreign player Jos "ret" de Kroon has signed with ESC-Gaming after several very successful months in Templars of Twilight.
- I felt like it was either time to start getting rewarded for putting in the work, or leave it behind. Since I love StarCraft, this was really the only choice for me, said ret on his new team's web page.
ESC-Gaming will now have the DreamHack Summer 2009 champion in their roster. As far as offline merits go, ret has also had a spectacular online season, winning the GameOutLoud Invitational, ending second in ESL Major Series as well as a Top 8 position in the Valor Tournament.
- I will just keep on playing my best cause I love the game and improving because I enjoy the process. Goals for the team should be obvious, and that is to win everything, answers ret on what his aims are with joining ESC-Gaming.
Templars of Twilight captain understanding
- These incredible results were apparently recognized by everyone in the scene and many teams were interested in him, though he kept refusing offers for a long time because he has been a very loyal member over the past years, writes Christoph "Mondragon" Semke at the Dutchman's former team web page.
- But there is a point where you need money for your real life because of personal reasons, adds Mondragon.
Along with the roster addition, ESC-Gaming has announced that Grzegorz "Dreiven" Kordek will take a long break from StarCraft. For how long is not known.
