With an 80 percent win record against Zerg, holding the first rank in KeSPA many were surprised that Lee Jae "JaeDong" Dong lost the semi finals against Kim Yoon "Calm" Hwan by 1-3.
Jaedong won the first game thanks to superior mutalisk micro on Carthage. Jaedong was also able to fend off the pre-mutalisk zergling attacks from Calm.
The following three games are games Jaedong probably would like to forget. The game on Byzantium saw Calm destroy Jaedong's overly placed spore colonies with a mutalisk/zergling combo where the zergling ratio was bigger than Jaedong seemed to have prepared for.
The other two games, on Heartbreak Ridge and Carthage, Calm outplayed Jaedong with his +1 attack upgrade on his mutalisks and scourge usage.
Calm will now go on to face the winner between Han Sang "Kwanro" Bong and Byun Hyung "Iris" Tae.
