TossGirl vs 
Modern Little has been seen from TossGirl since she lost to Effort last season, apart from an appearance in some foreigner vs progamer show matches in the Spirit tournament, where she handled the opposition with ease. Even less can be said about Modern, who has not been heard from at all prior to this.
Game 1
In the first game TossGirl started in the top left part of Colosseum and Modern in the bottom left. Early game brought very few surprises, with the Modern 12 hatching his natural expansion and TossGirl getting hers after plunking down two raxes first. It looked for a time like TossGirl was going to move out to put pressure on the zerg doorway, but her units had to stay put at her choke to avoid letting a couple of zerglings in and before you knew it the mutalisks started arriving. Modern had in fact not gotten the third hatchery and instead teched early to lair into a two hatchery mutalisk build, pinning TossGirl in her base.
The mutalisks kept on coming, but only periodically did they seem effective. They took down a few turrets, some marines and scvs, but some mismicroing from both players meant that the status quo never really shifted. Modern seemed like he was unsure what he was to follow up with and just kept pumping out mutalisks without expanding or teching for the longest time while TossGirl simply held on for dear life, finally getting vessels with irradiate. A very well placed irradiate in the center of Modern's mutalisk stack coupled with his failure to separate the mutalisks meant that TossGirl could push out shortly thereafter and roll him for the first win.
Game 2
The second game was short and sweet. Modern went for the standard economical opening on Andromeda, claiming his two expansions right off the bat, but TossGirl wasn't having any of that. As soon as her scouting SCV saw what he was up to she pulled half her SCVs from home along with her first few marines and went for the bunker rush. The first bunker went up just outside the natural expo hatchery and Modern was unable to micro well enough to defend against it. While a handful of SCVs were drilling holes into that hatchery a second bunker went up just above the ramp, Modern's newly spawned zerglings unable to do anything about it. In an act of desperation he tried sending six zerglings to counter, but after they were cleaned up he tapped out, handing the victory to TossGirl.
