Zerg and Protoss are dominating this year. Not only are there no Korean terran players, but there are only half as many Terrans as Zerg or Protoss, making it very unlikely that a Terran will win this year. Even besides that, the Terran roster simply does not match up this year, even though they do have some good players.

As such, this year's WCG winner will most likely be a Zerg or Protoss - as far as the Korean team goes, we have JaeDong and Luxury for Zerg, and Stork for Protoss. Being last year's winner, Stork is likely to do very well this year also, though JaeDong's continually good performance is likely to show as well. Luxury has certainly been doing better recently, and as such there is, as usual, no weakness in this year's Korean lineup.

Once again, the Germans have brought Mondragon to the battlefield, along with HoRRoR and Jogy. Having come third last year after beating sAviOr, Mondragon is certainly worth keeping an eye on this year. China brings some surprises; last year's finalist, Pj, is not participating. However, monster toss Lx is there for them, as well as ChinaTTTT and LoveTT.

The templar swarm

Four of the Templars of Twilight have qualified for WCG this year; all of them Zergs, though ClouD is likely to change that in the Italian WCG preliminaries, which have yet to be completed. With Mondragon coming third last year, they are well worth keeping an eye on.

The official WCG mappack is as follows:
WCG Mappack 1.3*
Blue Storm
Othello
Andromeda
Troy
*Map pool updated

It is approximately 32 days until the start of WCG in Cologne, Germany, and with the players that have qualified so far - with some qualifiers, such as the Italian and American preliminaries still to be completed, we are in for a seriously nail-biting competition.

With GosuGamers crew coverage live from the event, you can be sure that we will have you updated all through the tournament!
