You did what many thought was impossible, you beat Mondragon with a two to none score, what went through your mind when you realized you won?
- I was extremely happy when 2nd game finished! My girlfriend was sitting next to me cheering me up, so I got a big hug when the games had finished. I can say I did something impossible. You'll have to beat Mondragon 2-0 to know that feeling.
Do you think any other player could've taken him with that score? And did you think you would, before, even that you had a chance?
- I thought no one could have a chance in Protoss versus Zerg against Mondi. Sometimes being wrong is not that bad. I think that only White-Ra or Draco could take Mondi out. Before the game with Dissy I was pretty sure that I'll lose quickly.
You won the first game on Wuthering Heights, do you think you could've won the series if you wouldn't have won that game? Did it give you more confidence for the next one?
- After that game I realized that Mondi can be beaten. That give me some mental boost before the 2nd game.. I think If I would lose that 1st game, the whole series would be won by mondi.
So the percentages of the GosuBet (10%-90%) felt right?
- I think yes. I took every piece of that 10 percent!
Now when Mondragon is out of the picture, do you aim more safely for the top spot? Do you think you have a chance of winning this whole thing?
- I knocked out the hardest opponent in the Round of 16. I have big hopes with that tourney now so I'm aiming at least Top 4.
BRAT_OK won versus Haypro in the ro16, would you have felt more comfortable playing versus Haypro next weekend instead? Maybe taking revenge after the DreamHack final?
- My Protoss versus Zerg has evolved a lot since the last Dreamhack and it would be easier for me to play Haypro because I know his game style. I don't know much about BRAT_OK so I'll have to be very well prepared for him.
You mentioned aiming for the Top 4, if you win your quarter final, who do you predict to be in the semis with you?
- I predict White-Ra or Draco. I think they are the hardest opponents on the other side of the bracket.
Many said that the maps of these series have been very biased, especially the one you won the first game over Mondragon on, what do you think of the maps?
- I think that new maps are great idea. You can't just come without training and win the tournament. Everyone has to practice on them and try different strategies because they aren't simple.
Is there any map you prefer, or that you prefer not to play on? Would you think the maps were a big reason to why you won versus Mondragon?
- Many Zergs says that Wuthering is favoring Protoss over Zerg. I don't like to play on it anyway. IMO Othello is favorable for Zerg - it's very hard to defend. Zerg has a lot of different ways to win or destroy economy by lurker drops. Every map is different and you have to learn how to play on it. I can't say which map I don't prefer because I have still many games to play before I can truly understand those maps.
If you will have to stand up against Draco again, how would that feel? You have quite some history with your face-offs in big tournaments.
- He's a very hard opponent.. I'm always wondering if I can beat him ^^ If I'll have to play him, I will be prepared.
Have you done something in particular to prepare for the playoffs? Did you work more on any specific matchup, map or strategy?
- I played some game with ret on Wuthering. Before the games versus Mondi I watched some of his replays. It's all I have done.
