GosuGamers Rankings: March

We are but a short time into March, and over the past couple days the rankings have fluctuated. Finally things have been decided and we can take a closer look. There have been some huge drops, and some huge gains. Inactivity has really began to take effect on some, bringing lots of more active players to where they probably deserve on the list. We have five new faces to the top thirty, and only two rankings have remained unchanged. Let's begin our look into the GosuGamer's rankings with the top ten.

Mondragon still on top, Draco back at second

Still sitting on his throne yet again this month, Germany ToT)Mondragon( is still number one and has built up a very large lead over second place. Claiming second this month was Poland Draco, who has lost points for the third month in a row due to inactivity. Losing second place, and now in third after some very tough losses was Ukraine MYM.Strelok, who is only ten points behind. He lost more points than Draco, which is why he is now at third. If he can manage to avoid losing to unranked players and can play like we all know he can, he is very likely to regain the number two spot next month.

The first debut into the top ten this month at number four was China MYM.F91, who gained enough points to rise ten spots, and did not lose a single point. He is only nine points above Canada Excello.IefNaij, who has been playing in several different events, many of which have promoted him up a spot putting him at fifth.

Our second entrant, gaining an impressive ten spots and and moving into ninth place was Poland ToT)Gosia(. His strong play in events, especially GosuGamer's very own cash tournament "Masters of the Craft" have definitely earned him this spot.

Dreiven and Temujin drop far

February was a very bad month for Poland MYM.Dreiven. He has been very active this month, but for whatever reason, if even only bad luck, he has taken some very harsh losses and dropped a total of fifteen spots on the rankings, going from seventh to twenty second. Let this be no indication of Dreiven's skill, as many hope and expect to see him back on top by next month. The only player losing more spots than Dreiven was Kazakhstan 3D.Temujin, who alongside the Polish player were the only two to drop so much despite being fairly active. Both players will have numerous chances this month to bump up, and we will see if they can manage or if they will slip out of the top thirty altogether.

Five fresh faces from February

Debuting this month at the highest spot (eleventh) is the StarCraft Trooper himself, Germany HoRRoR.T-ScT, who holds wins over several of the other players who appear on the top thirty this month. He is one of two terran players on the top fifteen, alongside third placed Ukraine MYM.Strelok.

Next up is Spain ToT)Squall(, who is at seventeenth place this month. Strong play in the Masters of the Craft tournament as well as the other deciding leagues and tournaments boosted him up immensely. Joining them this month were Poland BVG.Tarson, Poland LRM)Yayba, and United States NonY[Media], who holds wins over many players above him, including Germany ToT)Mondragon(, Ukraine MYM.Strelok, and United States Excello.Chosen, who is at eighteenth this March after gaining an impressive eight spots.

Powerhouse Russia 3D.Notforu also gained many spots, particularly due to the results he brought forth in the King Of The Hill. Signs point nowhere but up for him, as he shows no signs of slowing down for anyone.

Poland gives us the most players

The Polish community proves their strength and presence once again, as a total of five players appear this month. Following behind in a five-way tie with three representatives each are Germany Germany, China China, Canada Canada, Russia Russia, and United States The United States of America. In total, a great percentage of the globe is represented, and we definitely see many of the faces that will be playing for their countries in the upcoming World Cyber Games 2008.

MeetYourMakers and the Templars of Twilight, still on top statistically

Both teams bring us almost half of the total top thirty, with thirteen players (forty percent) claimed. Following behind with three players is the newest Portugal Excello. The usual faces are still around, despite roster, name, and leadership changes recently. Spain Los Reyes del Mambo, Russia Team RoX, United States Micro Media, and Russia 3DClan make up the majority of the rest, with at least two people each from their teams. Also, Poland Betson Voodoo Gaming brings their player Poland Tarson to position twenty four in his debut. Will he be able to keep his spot, and will other players from this team be able to make their way into the top thirty? We are not very far away from finding out.

Overall...

The rankings have undergone quite a makeover since last month, and perhaps are a better reflection of the current scene. However, things can, will, and have changed and changed quickly, so all of the players will have to be on their best game if they wish to survive until next month. There are many events planned for the future, with infinite possibilities, so keep a close eye, bet smart, and stay tuned for April's rankings!
