F91, best Zerg in China?

Continuing our Chinese interviews, we caught up with F91 to talk about his team, his results, the future of Chinese progaming and of course his own career.
- I am not sure how long I will be playing either. The day I get bored of it I will stop playing, he says.

Together with He Bao "hbq" Qing, Sun Yi "F91" Feng represents the Chinese flag in the StarCraft roster of MeetYourMakers. The 24-year-old Zerg player joined up with the team on the 1st of March 2006 and has been one of the most important pillars in the team since then. He was one of the team's stronger players in the BWCL Premier League, and in the current season of the FragBet League he has been scoring like mad, bringing MeetYourMakers to first place in the group stage.

- I think MYM is a very good team. Everyone has the passion to play together, it's like playing with real good friends, he says when we ask him about MeetYourMakers.
He also mentions that he likes Ash and SEn the most because he's able to speak Chinese with them.
- SEn is one of my best friends, tell him I said "If you come to the mainland of China again, I hope you're even more silly," he says when we bring up SEn.

He has not generated many headlines in the foreign community, apart from his stunning results in the Chinese leagues, though one thing that was reported on was » F91's marriage. He asked us to remove that part, because he did not want to make that big a deal of it.
- It was nothing special, I just don't want to make it sounds like a big event, he says.
We also asked if his marriage had any impact on his gaming life. He says not much, apart from losing his concentration sometimes. He says it does not affect his practice time either.

His success in gaming does not only belong to the foreign scene. Sun Yi Feng has quite a number of merits below his belt. In last year's World Cyber Games qualifier he ended in fourth place. For this qualifier, his goal is to be Top 3.
- I have confidence, but I won't be overconfident, he says. F91 also says that he can't predict the results of the WCG qualifiers. But let's make one thing clear, the level of competition is very high. Legend, Pj and Super, just to mention three.

In the Neo StarLeague, a Chinese league with the best of the best, we saw F91 take down Legend in the Winner Bracket Semi Final, but he lost to the same player in the Final, scoring 1-3. We asked him why he lost.
- I had many strategies, but I used them all up in the semi final, so in the next clash I had nothing special left against him, says F91.

Our interviewer Aurora_Phoenix claimed that F91 is the only outstanding Zerg player, but F91 disagreed.
- I disagree with you. I think Beckham and Fengzi tend to be nervous when they play, otherwise if they perform at their true skill they can beat every non-korean top player, he explains. He also says that when playing offline, it's 60% skill, 30% mental and psychological strength while 10% of it is luck.


Surely, you must have noticed the sudden boom of Chinese progaming. F91 says that he rates China as definitely the best progaming country next to Korea.
- There are many tournaments going on right now, but we are still far behind compared to Korea, he says. The future of Chinese progaming will be interesting to follow, as well as F91's.
- I am not sure how long I will be playing either. The day I get bored of it I will stop playing, he says. But at the moment he seems to enjoy it, and with success comes happiness, we take it.

F91 is currently ranked 17th in our ranking, which makes him the fourth best Chinese player, with Legend, Super and Pj ahead of him. He did not know himself that there is a ranking, but he do visits the site quite a lot.
- I come quite often, but I can barely understand the news- I use translators to read them sometimes, he reveals.

When we talked about the ranking, F91 linked us the » Chinese ranking, where F91 is ranked third. The ranking is based on all the Chinese leagues that have been played, such as the Neo StarLeague, G League and others of the kind. We see legend at the top with 714 points, followed by Pj with 510 points. Only ten points after is F91 ([SvS]F91Forever).
