Team Liquid sets sail with newly updated roster

After months of searching for recruits to round out their team, Team Liquid Overwatch welcomes two new additions to their official roster.

The pair of new recruits, Andrew "id_" Trulli and John "Minstrel" Fisher, will chart their course amongst the eSports organization, after their induction to the group a few weeks ago. One of their recent accomplishments is qualifying for the Beyond the Summit Cup Playoffs, breaking through with an impressive lower bracket spree. Both players are also acquainted with and now partner together with DaHanG.

One of Team Liquid's current members, Tim "dummy" Olson, is stepping down from their starting roster as well; as of writing this article, the organization is still finding him a new place to call home. The official roster debuted in the ELEAGUE qualifier and will show up later in the ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown North American Qualifier. Below is a quick overview on the new potentials joining the team.

I’m thrilled to be joining Liquid, one of the largest and highly respected organizations in eSports. It’s been great to play with the team over the last month and I’m glad it’s now official. Having played on many successful teams with DaHanG throughout most of my Quake past, it’s awesome to be able to play with him again in Overwatch and try to continue that success. All the guys on the team have tremendous work ethic and skill, and with the support of Liquid we definitely aim to be strong contenders in the Overwatch scene.

id_'s past was in the Quake scene with three QuakeCon victories in 2009, 2010, and 2012 together with DaHanG. He's familiar with competitive shooters and brings plenty of experience to the team. He specializes in weapons that go 'boom,' so expect to see some great Pharah plays with id_ at the helm.

Minstrel

I've been playing competitive FPS for close to a decade now and am glad to get the chance to try my hand in the Overwatch scene where top tier players from all different gaming backgrounds have come to test their skills.

Minstrel's experience comes from a long line of past arena shooters and TF2. He made a name during Overwatch's beta as Lucio and helped EnVyUs become one of the better teams in the eSports scene. His primary role is Support as he assists teammates through heals and buffs, but he's not afraid of attacking the enemy as well.

The official Team Liquid roster now looks as followed:

The sixth position is still up in the air concerning who will fill it, but the team has stated they will most likely be playing with whaz for the forseeable future.
