We had the pleasure of tuning in to the GosuGamers Weekly #17 this past weekend to see a very interesting outcome. WEUNITED ended up taking the gold in both NA and EU tournaments, defeating several notable teams such as MVP Space, Sea Algae, Bringos, Selfless, and more. We did not, however, see any of the Overwatch behemoths such as Cloud9, EnVyUs, and Misfits. In fact, none of the current top 10 teams according to GosuRankings were present.

We see that many of the teams from the last Weekly are not present, such as REUNITED, Misfits. 2sTroNk, and SG-1. Additionally, only ANOX OW completed their registration from the teams in our predictions last week. However, TwoEasy’s new team WEUNITED ended up taking the win, giving up only one game in round 5 to ChokeOW. Most notably in the Finals, we saw WEUNITED face off against the former NG Blue squad Bringos, and take the series 2-0 in round 6. After Bringos dominate the lower bracket, they challenge WEUNITED again in the finals, and WEUNITED takes the series cleanly with a 3-0 finish.
A second really has to be taken to review the strong performance WEUNITED brought to the table. After the release of TwoEasy from the REUNITED team, we’ve seen a strong roster form in the shape of WEUNITED. While some of the top favorites in the EU were missing from this week’s tournament, we see WEUNITED performing well in other tournaments this week.
Despite parting ways with NG Blue, Bringos continues to perform well. They drop one game to Evoks in the Upper Bracket and one game in the lower bracket, but still win the matches. They lose 0-2 to WEUNITED in Round 6, and lose 0-3 in the Finals. Overall, the performances out of both Bringos and WEUNITED were definitely notable.
Evoks should also be noted here, with their only losses being at the hands of Bringos: 1-2 each time.
We see a few EU teams such as WEUNITED and Melty eSports Club playing in the NA Weekly tournament for #17. Our predictions for Melty, selfless, 1sun, and MVP Space to take top spots were upset by the performance we saw out of WEUNITED. 1sun, MVP Space, and Selfless were all taken out by WEUNITED. Melty was taken out by Sea Algae, who was in turn taken out by WEUNITED in Round 7 of the upper bracket. The only teams that managed to take a map off of WEUNITED were 1sun in Round 5 and Sea Algae in the finals. Note, however, that in Round 7 WEUNITED beat Sea Algae cleanly. WEUNITED ends up taking the GosuGamers NA Weekly #17 without too much of a challenge. They finish with a 13-2 record for the NA side.
WEUNITED definitely makes themselves known as a team to respect, taking out plenty of notable teams in both the EU and NA Weekly Tournaments. However, these victories are more than simply tournament wins or resume additions for WEUNITED. After TwoEasy’s parting with REUNITED, we see that he has found himself a new team that has clearly established they’re on their way to take on the top teams in the world. This is a team definitely worth keeping an eye on.
