A Viewer’s Guide to the GosuGamers Weekly EU #17

Another group of teams will be competing for their share of the $1.000 plus prize pool! Check out this preview to get ready for the action.

Saturday can mean only one thing, another round of GosuGamers EU Weekly. With some of the more dominant teams taking the weekend off, this Weekly will surely feature some new teams coming out on top. The top three teams will take home their share of the $1,000 prize pool, that can be increased by donating at Matcherino.com, using the coupon code “ggeu17”. That $1,000 prize is kindly provided by our partners Matcherino, G2A, ROCCAT, PF.GG, and OWKings.

Where to Watch:

The Weekly starts at 18:00 CEST/12:00 EDT/09:00 PDT, and if you want to watch live you can do so on the following streams:

What to watch for:

This Weekly will not only feature some great teams, but it will also feature a new hero, Ana. This Weekly will be the first real chance to see the recently released long range support in action. While she is available, teams have not had much time to practice with the new support, so don’t expect to see her being played too much.

This Weekly will not feature many of the top teams - such as REUNITED, Creation, or Misfits – so there is going to be an opportunity for a new team to come out on top. Here are a few teams to watch, were they to finish their registration:

1. Melty eSports Club
Melty eSports is consistently on the top of the second tier of European teams. They are currently ranked as the seventh best team in Europe, and if you go through their record you will see why. They have wins against the majority of the teams ranked below them, but when facing stronger completion, they have yet to come out on top. Luckily for Melty, they won’t face any higher ranked teams during the Weekly, so look for them to come out on top and maybe parlay their win into some momentum moving forward.

2. ANOX Overwatch
Currently sitting just one spot below Melty eSports in the European rankings, eighth ranked ANOX seems to be headed in the right direction. They have only three losses in their past ten matches – two to 2sTroNk and one loss to Rogue. Like Melty, ANOX will benefit from the less experienced field and should be able to finish in the prize money.

3. OWKings.com
OWKings is somewhat of a risky pick to finish in the top three, mainly because they are on three match losing streak. They are currently ranked the twelfth best team in Europe, but are lacking the consistency to crack the top ten. OWKings will not have an easy road, especially if they have an early matchup against ANOX, Melty, or even Prets. But, if they are able to get a few wins early and get some confidence moving into the later rounds OWKings has the talent to secure a share of the $1,000 prize pool.
