Another NA Weekly is kicking off in just a little bit, so come get ready for the action!
GosuGamers Weekly NA #16 will begin in just a little while (21:00 CEST/15:00 EDT/12:00 PDT) so here is a preview to get you ready! A bracket of talented teams will fight it out for their share of a prize pool totaling at least $1,000, which can be increased by using the code “ggna16” on Matcherino.com. Predictions:
1. nubris
Just like last week, nubris has to be the favorite coming into this Weekly. They are currently the tenth ranked team in the world, and have won nine of their last ten games, losing only to Luminosity in their most recent game. Not only should they come away with first place this week, but it would be surprising if they even dropped more than a round or two during the entire Weekly.
2. Clutch
Clutch seems to have had a resurgence after taking most of the month of June off. Their record is not great, they have twelve wins and seven losses in July. However, their losses have come against top ten teams, so Clutch should be able to get through the majority of the bracket on the winning side, before facing nubris in the finals.
3. Melty eSports Club
Melty eSports Club seems to be forever on the verge of turning into a top ten team. They currently are the fourteenth ranked team in the world, and at times have played like it. The majority of their wins have come against their tier teams, with the exception being the newly formed WEUNITED. Melty has yet to come away with a defining victory, and don’t expect it to come this week.
4. 1SHOT
Fourth place could go a number of different ways. WEUNITED has been playing together less than a month, but look like a strong team. Selfless GG is the twenty-fifth ranked team in the world, higher than both WEUNITED (26) and 1SHOT (47). However, 1SHOT has been taking part in some big competitions, against top tier opponents. While they have yet to come away with wins against the likes of Cloud9, the experience that 1SHOT has gained in recent weeks is worth something. Look for them to get some early wins, and maybe even take out Melty eSports if they face each other.
