Livestream at this year's BlizzCon

This year's BlizzCon is approaching, and Blizzard will be offering an online stream for this year's event despite last years complaints directed at the provider, DirecTV.

The previous BlizzCon saw a partnership with DirecTV where, for a fee of $39.95, the viewer receives eight hours, per day, of coverage from the event in High Definition. This will be offered this year as well. On top of this, there will also be an internet stream for the same price.

There is also promises that a paying viewer will receive an exclusive bonus (last year viewers for the exclusive mount for World of WarCraft which attendees received also). DirecTV will have an introductory offer for new subscribers who wish to sign up for the service.

At Blizzcon 2008, the stream was via DirecTV and it was met with mixed responses. There where numerous complaints against DirecTV's business model.

The event will include developer panels for the Starcraft II, World of WarCraft and Diablo III. There will also be a chance to play the upcoming games, and also participate in contests and tournaments.

BlizzCon will take place on August 21 and 22 in Anaheim, California. Tickets for BlizzCon will go on sale in two batches, the first on May 16, the second on May 30th, for $125.
