All groups apart from Group B forced tiebreaker matches between some teams, settling the key positions in the playoffs. The first two teams of each group start out in the Upper Bracket whereas teams ranked 3-4 will need to try their luck in the Lower Bracket. Teams ranked 5-8 are eliminated. All playoff matches are best of three except the Grand Final which will be best of five. The bracket can be seen here:
The three way tie in Group A resulted in tiebreakers between VP, Liquid and aL.Academy where VP came out on top thus entering the Upper Bracket. Group C also had a three way tie, this one concerning Lower Bracket / Elimination. DDdota and Gamer University ended up in the Lower Bracket. Turtle, after having an amazing start of the group stage, came out short during the tiebreakers and lost both matches. Just yesterday in Group D, the juggernauts Natus Vincere took on Danish rising stars in 3DMAX. A match which would settle who'd start in Upper and who in Lower. After a thrilling match (check it out here), 3DMAX was victorious and are off to the better start in the playoffs.
The first match of the playoffs is tonight at 19.00 CET between 4FC and aL.Academy. Since it's the Lower Bracket, the losing team will be eliminated. The matches are ofcourse casted by Tobiwan.
