DreamHack Winter's group B also left us with a clean ranking, displaying nTh and EG as its advancing teams. Third place finisher 4FC however was not far away from pulling off a surprise.
The premier match ranking-wise then opposed nth and EG, which surprisingly turned out to be a fairly onesided affair. The American's lineup around Fear's Lifestealer had no answer to a crushing Magnataur with assistance from a Luna strengthened by Vengeful Spirit's Aura.
EG therefore had to face the confident 4FC in round three, which was everything but easy. The Swedes once again went with an adventerous lineup featuring a safe-lane Pudge, as well as an aggressive tri-lane with Nerubian Weaver as farmer. The tanky lineup, EG lead into the battle had a tough time during many fights, however did well enough to start forcing fights it could ultimately win.
Four out of eight playoff attendees have therefore been determined after day one. Check back tomorrow at 10:00 CET, when teams such as Empire, dignitas, Mousesports, Fnatic and PULSE will do their utmost to follow along.
