With a lineup that arguably pales in comparison to other teams in terms of star power, Complexity Gaming have went against all odds to make a stand in the Dota 2 competitive scene. Jio 'Jeyo' Madayag takes the celebrity seat in an exclusive interview with It's Gosu.
With a long history in DotA, the current 19 year-old revealed that he picked up the game when he was merely ten and fell in love with it soon after. "I first played dota when my brother introduced me to it. I hated it at first because I kept losing so I wanted to keep practicing," Jeyo mentions.
He also mentioned that his current streak in Complexity may be just what he needed given that "I have never really played seriously until now. I guess it's a coming of age thing I felt very confident, calm and more mature, it's the right time for me to be able to play at this level right now."
When asked about whether the Filipino community were quick to claim him as one of their own, he replied, "I don't even know if anyone knows that I'm pinoy besides my closest playmates in DotA and my team. Of course I'm proud if I'm able to represent the filipinos with what I'm doing right now."
Nevertheless, Jeyo recognized his humble beginnings and mentioned that "it's great that we have lesser known teams coming in and giving known teams a challenge and I hope to see more of that in future tournaments."
And the main goal for Complexity 2012? As with most teams - The International.
