Over the weekend, Danish team Evil Geniuses completed a perfect run at the Team Dignitas Dota 2 Invitationals which saw the participation of renowned teams such as Na`Vi, DTS and Darer. Sponsored by Alienware, EG have walked away champions and 500€ richer from the online tournament.
On their way to the finals, EG handily dispatched powerhouses such as mTw, DTS and Gosu in consecutive best of one matches. On the other hand, their opponents, NEXT.kz, could arguably have been said to have fought the tougher end of the bracket - the Kazakhstan team were forced to play Darer, Na`Vi and Dignitas on their way to the finals, but ultimately came out on top.
With a best of three final set up, EG found themselves on a roll and took NEXT.kz head on, eventually emerging victorious two games to nil. Meanwhile, Dignitas defeated Gosu to finish third in the third place decider.
