The Premier League: Week 4

Sponsored by TwitchTV in collaboration with DotACommentaries, it looks like The Premier League will stop for no one as we are now already at week five of our scheduled matches and still going strong.

The last week was affected primarily by two major changes to the scene - firstly, the only recently announced disbandment of longstanding Chinese powerhouse Nirvana.MSI (see) and secondly, the loss of sponsorship for team SK, who are now renamed to DD (see).

Two walkovers occurred during the week, with MYM's victory over Nirvana.MSI understandably caused by the latter's inactivity and WE's victory over Mineski due to scheduling conflicts which resulted in a no-show. The Philippine team now rest bottom last, even falling after disbanded team Nirvana.MSI who have yet to play their week three match against Dignitas.

With that said, two matches from week three remain unplayed, leaving teams such as Na`Vi, WE, Nirvana.MSI and Dignitas with a misrepresented standing on the table. Na`Vi however, still sits at the top of the table, although their undefeated streak was unfortunately punctuated by a draw against Swedish team Experience last Friday.

On the bright side, Malaysian team MYM have finally climbed to a respectable placing on the rankings after a walkover last week. Dignitas, on the other hand, have fallen to a miserable bottom three placing - keeping in mind, however, that they still have an unplayed match against Nirvana.MSI, which should technically result in a win for the Romanian team after the latter's disbandment.

One can expect that this week's matches will bring more excitement and entertainment than the last. The situation over Nirvana.MSI's departure from the league - whether a replacement will be put in place or the tournament will continue with nine teams - remains undecided.

Stay tuned next week for yet another update!
