Peyz returns to the LCK after a year in the LPL.
Just two days after the shocking announcement that Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, three-time World Champion and the 2025 League of Legends World Championship MVP, would be leaving the organisation,
T1 have officially signed Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan as their new bot laner. The announcement went live on T1’s official social media channels on 19 November:
In their post, T1 confirmed that Peyz has signed with the team until 2028, marking one of the longest contract commitments in the organisation’s recent years.
“‘Peyz’ begins his journey with T1, staying with us until 2028. With one goal in mind, we are ready to reach even greater heights. Please show your support for ‘Peyz’ as he begins this new chapter with us,” the announcement read.
T1 also released a video message from their newest AD Carry, where he addressed fans directly. “I’m really excited to begin this new chapter with new teammates here from T1. I’ll do my best to show great performances this upcoming season. Thank you,” he said.
Peyz’s career so far
Peyz first entered the competitive scene through
Gen.G Academy in 2020, progressing to Gen.G Challengers in 2021. His steady improvement earned him a spot on Gen.G’s main roster from November 2022 to November 2024, a period marked by multiple major titles.
During his tenure with Gen.G, Peyz helped the team win the LCK 2023 Spring, LCK 2023 Summer, LCK 2024 Spring, LCK 2024 Summer, and the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational. He then moved to the LPL to join
JD Gaming as the organisation’s bot laner for Season 2025.
With his arrival, Peyz becomes T1’s starting AD Carry, taking over the position previously held by Gumayusi, who had been part of T1’s main roster since 2021, made four Worlds Finals appearances since then, and winning three back-to-back Worlds titles where he delivered a standout performance at Worlds 2025, earning him the MVP award. While Gumayusi has already received an official farewell from T1 a few days ago, a new team has not yet been officially announced.
