Flash Wolves Devour Supermassive, Move to Group Stage

Flash Wolves made their play-in game look easy.  Supermassive esports will face Gigabyte Marines in the final elimination match this Saturday.

The LMS' Flash Wolves made it look easy last night when they took on Turkey's Supermassive esports.  Three incredible performances from the Wolves mid laner, Maple, saw him go a total of 19/1/17.  That's right: in three games on three different champions he died just once.

Although the mid laner stole the limelight, it was a strong team performance that secured the win.  Every single game lasted less than 30 minutes and the Taiwanese team gave up just 11 kills total.  The stats didn't get any better from there either.  Across three games, Supermassive took just five towers and a single dragon.  Supermassive were the Lambs to Frost Wolves' slaughter in a game that will build important confidence for the Wolves going into the group stage.

Next up for the Wolves is China's World Elite next Wednesday (May 10).  WE topped their region with a 3-0 win against RNG just a week ago so both teams will be coming into this game in red hot form.

Meanwhile, Supermassive get one more chance to stay in MSI on Saturday (May 6). They will face Gigabyte Marines in a best-of-five to decide the last spot in the group stage with the loser going home.  The Marines looked equal parts impressive and ridiculous in their game against TSM earlier this week when they threw away a shock 2-0 lead.  Whether or not they can bounce back from that disappointment will go a long way to deciding who lives on in the tournament.
