Samsung White, Royal Club pull ahead after first two days of worlds

The heavy favorites for Group A and B of the World Championship showcased anticipated domination and are up 3-0 to their competitors. In two more days, the top two finalists of each group will be known.

As expected, Group A became a battle between Samsung White and Edward Gaming for who'll rule the standings after the first half of the round robin. Considered to be one of the teams to possibly take the world cup, Samsung were ruthless and didn't drop a single game today and yesterday, which put them on the comfortable 3-0 finishing the second playday with a uncontested win over tournament underdogs Dark Passage and a pentakill on Imp's Vayne.

In the group next door, LPL bronze finalists Star Horn Royal Club repeated Samsung White's record and topped a group equally split between Asia and the west. With 2-1, it was TSM who are holding the second position for the moment, wrapping up with a confident triumph against GPL champions TPA.

The result from the last two days put two teams dangerously close to elimination. At 0-3, Dark Passage will have close to impossible task climbing out of a group with SSW, EDG and AHQ. The same could be said about SK Gaming who are also missing a victory, noticeable suffering following the suspension of their primary jungler Svenskeren.

Matches continue tomorrow with more action from the two groups. Schedule is as follows:

11:00 CET - Dark Passage vs Samsung White
12:00 CET - SK Gaming vs Royal Club
13:00 CET - AHQ vs Samsung White
14:00 CET - TSM vs Taipei Assassins
15:00 CET - Dark Passage vs Edward Gaming
16:00 CET - SK Gaming vs Taipei Assassins
