ANZ Grand Final is this weekend, and the winner goes to Blizzcon

So far this year Negative Synergy has dominated the ANZ scene, but thanks to recent roster shuffles, this final will be the most competitve we've had yet.

All year Negative Synergy has been unmatched throughout Australia and New Zealand, representing the region at both the Spring and Summer Global Championships. After a disappointing result in Europe the majority of the team decided to step away from Negative Synergy, and started a new team with one new player, bringing in Arcaner to replace Sashin. This is how 'The Boys' was formed. Negative Synergy held onto Sashin and also filled out the rest of the roster with players who, for most of the year, had been fighting for that top spot.

The Boys turned up to the ANZHeroes King of the Hill series and were able to hold on to the title longer than any other team. It was also an indication that even though they were no longer under the name Negative Synergy, they were still looking to dominate the scene.

The Boys rebranded as Reborn, and are the favourites coming into this grand final. Negative Synergy, with the new roster, has been getting better and better, and will be looking to bring the organization to the Global Championship for a third time in a row.

Vandie from ANZHeroes was able to talk with both of the teams about the matchup, how they're feeling heading into it, and just what it would mean to make it to Blizzcon.

In the Reborn interview Robadobah made it quite clear that they were not happy with their Summer performances, and that an appearance at BlizzCon could be their chance for redemption. They welcome the competition, and are very confident that they will be the ones to take the win this weekend.

Negative Synergy, even though still a fairly new roster, are quietly confident heading into their match with Reborn. Demise, as one of the new players to the lineup, said that he was quite aware of the expectation placed upon Negative Synergy in ANZ, but did not let it impact their play. Even after they failed to qualify from the first qualifier, they were not disheartened, and instead put a positive spin on it, as it gave them the chance to get more tournament experience under their belt before the big day.

All the action gets under way on 17th September at 11am AEST (16th September, 6pm PDT) and will be at twitch.tv/blizzheroes. Casting the series will be Skimmy and Disconcur.
