Medivh is trying to bring order to the Nexus, but it's clear he has to crack a few skulls to make that happen.
Our initial reaction to Medivh was a mixture of impressed shock and worry. His abilities are extremely unique and, true to lore, he breaks the fundemental rules that govern Heroes of the Storm. He negates an infinite amount of damage, grants unheard-of amounts of vision-- the list goes on.
And along with the hype is a justfiable sense of worry:
How on earth will such a powerful hero change the state of competitive play? We get a small glimpse in the in the above hero trailler. His incredible utility and the unprecedented control he brings looks good in a highlight reel, but it isn't hard to imagine real-game scenario where even a mediocre Medivh might make some amazing plays.
