Two members from Blaze announce their departure. Organization already looking at replacements
Both Roflcopter and Batterry announced on twitter Wednesday evening that they have left the Blaze organization.
Roflcopter said in his statement ”If it wasn't for Yuuj I would have never joined the scene, and I am extremely thankful for what they have done for me.”
Manager/Owner Patrick "Shadowsmile" Smiley later released a statement on the team's website as well.
It reads, in part:
”Team Blaze started from absolute scratch with aspirations and inspirations alike. Together we forged our way acquiring talent from the likes of Roflcopter and Batterry. It is with great sadness that I am writing this post, but it is with great joy and pride as we look back on their career and development with Team Blaze.”
While Blaze didn’t make it passed the group stages at North American Spring Regional, they did have a serious run while they were there, especially with a sub. The team was able to take a win against COGnitive 2-1, and took one game on Cloud9, but eventually got knocked out of the group stages.
Blaze is also the first seed going into the North American Enter the Storm Cup #2 group stages, only behind Naventic who qualified after winning Cup #1.
The team grew its roots as a Heroes of the Dorm team from University of Texas-Arlington last year, making it all the way to the Round of 16 but losing to the Arizona State team, some of whose players went on to sign with Panda Global. The Blaze dorm roster will still consist of Yuuj, Klaudeous and DXN as a sub.
Roflcopter will also remain on the UT-Knoxville roster.
This most certainly won’t be the demise of Team Blaze. Zoia said on Townhall Heroes Wednesday night that he knows that Patrick is “already in talks with two new replacements”.
