A new age of Heroes: bans are finally coming to Hero League.

Straight from Browder himself, 2 bans from each team will be coming to hero league, meaning 14 playable heroes will be needed for accounts to play ranked.

Anyone keeping up with the current state of Heroes of the Storm is familiar with the problems. Hero League is becoming increasingly difficult to win with any heroes except a well accepted group of top tiers. The result? Tyrande, Kael'Thas, Raynor, Muradin, E.T.C, and Tassadar nearly every game.

Pro players have flocked to SEL matches and alternate tools to simulate bans during a draft like our very own Heroesdraft.com. These solutions work but leave the rest of us stuck with Hero League. Most of the time, players are unable to pick their favorite heroes, as the punishment for deviating against the meta is brutal.

However, it's been confirmed just hours ago that an end to a not-so-fun Hero League is near:

MOBA veterans already know this, but the inclusion of bans allow for more hero viability and matches that don't always include the same 6-7 heroes. The Lost Vikings become a lot more powerful when you can Ban Kael'Thas. Rexxar becomes really powerful in lane when you can ban Zagara. Tychus might become a plausible pick again when you can ban Raynor. The implications are staggering and Hero League will never be the same again once these changes go into affect.
