Day One of the European Spring Championships

Missed the first day of the Katowice European Spring Championships? We got a re-cap for the best matches you can't miss.

The first day of the European Spring Championships held at Katowice, Poland, was intense as expected. The matches were enticing and were sure to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. Europes best teams took the stage, with Groups A and B playing their respective matches. Here's a recap of two of the best matches of the day.

Na'Vi vs Dignitas

One of the most antcipated matches, Na'Vi versus Dignitas took place, with Dignitas taking the win. The match was shocking, to say the least, as Na'Vi lost both of the games without much resistance. For two high calibre teams, it wasn't the outcome that people would have expected.

Dignitas drafted melee orientated teams to great success They heavily favored Greymane, with Mene playing it at top form. Unsurprisingly, Bakery picked up Kharazim in both games, as it is his favorite hero to play. Look out for the ease at which he protects his team mates and consistently denies the enemy kills

Na'Vi tried to make it work with Cho'Gall and Tassadar as a solo support, but 7-sided-strike proved too lethal against Cho'Gall's high base HP. Na'Vi's Li-Ming couldn't secure the kils needed to truly snowball, which is more a product of the incredible support play by Bakery than any misplay by Na'Vi.

Team Liquid vs Reason Gaming

?
Team Liquid are arguably the most dominant team within Group B, as they secured the first place in their qualifier to Katowice. Despite this, they were heavily contested heavily by the new comers Reason Gaming. Team Liquid won the match in a 2-1 victory over Reason Gaming, but the underdogs presented themselves as worthy opponents in the end. Team Liquid had to work much harder to grab the win than anyone expected.

Cho'Gall proved unsuccessful in this set too, this time falling to the sustained poke damage of Zagara and Lunara. Team Liquid made the adjustments eventually, sensing Reason Gaming's reliance on Zagara and banned her in the last game. This combined with a confident Sonya / Abathur draft stopped Reason Gaming's momentum dead in it's tracks, securing the match win.
