Since the release of the Sylvanas patch, Jaina has been striking Illidan levels of fear into pro teams.
The latest patch came out about a week ago and no hero received more buffs than Jaina. She gained Arcane a shorter cool down on Improved Ice Block, the much needed and possibly overpowered ability to affect buildings and Boss units with her chilling trait and a damage buff on every single one of her basic abilities.
The result of these changes?
Jaina has skyrocketed to the most contested and one of the most picked heroes in the new meta. Before the buffs, she wasn't even close to the top, but now her shocking levels of AoE burst damage finds a welcome home in almost any line up. One line up in particularly devastating is when she is paired with Diablo and Tyrande: one successful Overpower leads to an unavoidable Lunar Flare and two waves of Blizzard damage. Even if by some miracle the hero isn't dead yet, they are heavily slowed and under attack by three heroes. Did I mention the target was Hunters marked the entire time?
Illidan is still a highly contested hero, but I predict Jaina will continue to outshine him. Were has Illidan requires a certain line up to support him, all Jaina needs is some minor set up many different heroes can provide.
