G2, LG top Trinity Series table after week two, Hunter makes first appearance

Luminosity are closing the gap between them and the ATLC champions.

After a strong showing on their Tempo Mage on Wednesday, LG were in prime position to be on top of the Trinity Series rankings after week two. They could only be topped by G2 Esports, whose 6-0 sweep in week one would guarantee them the #1 should they win the January 26 bout against  Virtus.pro with any score.

VP and G2 traded games at the start of the series until G2’s Pirate Warrior gave them a sufficient lead and help them close the series at 6-4. For Virtus.pro this is the second loss in a row now, despite the trio being considered among the favorites, sporting the talents of Ole “Naiman” Batyrbekov and Blizzcon runner-up Artem “DrHippi” Kravets.

Cloud9 faced Liquid in the second match of W2D2, as both teams tried to get on the scoreboard after their losses in week one. An unexpected move from C9 saw them leave Hunter open for play, after the class was self-banned 13 times before that.

Ironically, Hunter was one of the very few decks which on a game for Cloud9, as the trio went down 3-6 to Liquid, joining the bottom of the table alongside Virtus.pro and Alliance, the latter currently struggling at -10 game score.

Week three will guarantee at least one team to go 3-0 as compLexity plays Luminosity Gaming on Feb 2. Considering latest results, G2 is also expected to pin a perfect record, as they are scheduled for a match against Cloud 9 on Feb 1.
